A gynecologist's focus is the lifelong well being of a woman's reproductive organs, by both preventing problems and dealing with issues as they arise. Women should see a gynecologist regularly starting in late adolescence and continuing throughout their lives, even beyond menopause.

OB/GYN Associates recommend women start seeing a gynecologist by no later than age 21 and continue annual examinations yearly throughout their lives after that.
